In this work, Tod reinterprets the monumental sculpture “La Agricultura” (Agriculture), located in the city of Buenos Aires, and transports it into a dreamlike and contemporary dimension. Far from a literal reproduction, the winged figure and her earthly counterpart merge within an atmosphere of fluid textures, dripping paint, and chromatic contrasts that blur their boundaries, creating an image charged with emotion, strength, and vulnerability.
The choice of this sculpture is no coincidence: a symbol of labor, the land, and progress, “La Agricultura” takes on a new, more introspective and spiritual dimension here. The figures appear suspended in an uncertain time, where the classical meets the urban, and the sacred meets the intimate.
This piece is part of Tod’s visual universe, where figuration dialogues with abstract expressionism, and historical references are reimagined to speak of the present—of our roots, our struggles, and the beauty that can emerge from chaos.
